What is the FordPass?

The FordPass is an app that allows you to connect to your vehicle from basically anywhere. It is compatible with both the iPhone and Android, and is available for download from both the Google Play Store and Apple store.

The FordPass app is designed to optimize your overall driving experience. With the FordPass app, drivers can:

• • Remotely lock and unlock their doors
  • Remotely start and stop their engine
  • Check their current fuel levels, including the location of the nearest gas station. Drivers can also search gas stations by price and fuel type.
  • Contact and obtain roadside assistance in the event of an emergency
  • Access their vehicle health reports, including the ability to schedule an appointment at the dealership
  • Obtain service reminders such as when to get an oil change, etc.

Drivers can also designate a schedule as to when their car turns on. So, if you leave work every day at 5:00 pm, you can have your car all toasty warm or cool (depending on the season) by the time you get in. Drivers also have the option to store their credit and/or debit card information and easily pay for parking meters, as well as any bills relating to vehicle maintenance and/or payments.

It’s important to remember that these features are only available if your Ford has SYNC Connect.

How to Set Up FordPass

Setting up FordPass is easy. If your vehicle comes equipped with SYNC Connect, go ahead and download the app from your mobile phone. Click “create account” and enter your vehicle’s VIN. You can either scan this by taking a photo of the sticker on your window or entering it manually.

Once you’ve entered your info, click “get started.” During this process, you have the option to customize a nickname for your vehicle if you’d like. Click on “vehicle details” and then activate your vehicle. Continue following the prompts on the screen until you’re all set and ready to go.
